Fun Food

Snackle boxes

I confess to having a longtime admiration for tackle boxes. You can organize all kinds of things with them. I have used them for sewing and art supplies as well fishing gear. They make pretty good tool boxes and first aid kits too. You can find them in dollar stores and sporting good stores.

As snack boxes, people travel with them and make fancy labels for them. I keep one in the fridge for the cheese tax that our dogs charge anytime we go near the kitchen.

But this week I outdid myself with a Charcuterie Safe. A glorified tackle box that locks so well, nothing shifts.

Charcuterie Safe from Amazon

For an upcoming road trip- We filled it with every mini snack we could get our hands on. Triscuits, Oreos, pretzels, Cheetos, goldfish, starbursts,m&ms, Hershey fun size, Ritz bits, grapes, carrots, almonds and Peppermint Patties, pepperoni and cheese cubes. Once I started looking, I was surprised how many mini food items were available – I add silicone cupcake liners and bamboo appetizer forks for serving as well as individual hand sanitizer packets. It was pretty fun and easy to make.
