This week we said goodbye to our cable boxes with their monthly fees, wired connections, and multiple battery operated remotes with a one time $80 upgrade to Roku Ultra.
This little gem, has a rechargeable remote with a built in lost remote finder, and voice activation. Our cable technician told us about it on a service call. We now access cable stations via an app like Netflix, Prime and all the other streaming services. As a bonus the picture is much crisper.
As another bonus you can connect earbuds with the remote- they’re included – or wirelessly via Bluetooth headphones. I use my trusty Bose set.
It even turned one of our older TVs into a Smart TV. Hello free premium TV.
In case you were wondering- The name Roku means six in Japanese- Roku is the sixth business started by founder James Wood.
