No-Bite-Me

Mosquitos love me- they always have. As a result, I have tried all manner of repellents. This cream is my go to. I sent my kids to summer camp with it. It works.

I first discovered SallyeAnder at the Union Square Green Market. They are based in Beacon NY.

It’s a forty year old family owned business that began with two parents creating a soap with essential oils to help their son’s eczema.

The No Bite Me Active ingredients include mint, lemongrass, and cedarwood to create what they call an out-of-this-world scent that packs a powerful punch—for more outdoor adventures, and less itch! There are no synthetic fragrances.

Now they have gone mainstream and their products are available on Amazon as well as their own website.

Here in Massachusetts, mosquitos have been busy spreading West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis and warnings are up to limit time outdoor during dawn and dusk hours.

The first case of West Nile Virus was found in the United States in 1999 and is now the most common cause of mosquito-borne disease in the United States in most years.

Mosquitoes acquire the virus by biting infected birds, which are the main hosts.

Warmer temperatures associated with climate change can accelerate mosquito development, biting rates, and the incubation of the disease within a mosquito.

Mild winters and drought have been associated with West Nile virus disease outbreaks, while rainfall can also contribute by creating breeding sites for mosquitoes.

So clear any standing water in your vicinity and Keep No Bite Me Handy.
