We had to get creative with vases for our flowers from the farmers market this week as our kitchen has been packed up for a renovation.
We are taking out walls and old appliances and cooking on a hot plate and a toaster oven. It’s kind of a hark back to dorm room cooking….
Like most projects, it’s taking longer to complete, but the delays are giving us new ideas every day.
Some of my favorites will be elevating the dishwasher and a wall of windows instead of upper cabinets and pull out everything.
I know most people and designers just like to rip everything out and start fresh, but we have found that by living in a space first- you discover what works, and what doesn’t.
Garrison Keillor sums it up best –
“Some luck lies in not getting what you thought you wanted but getting what you have, which once you have it you may be smart enough to see is what you would have wanted all along had you known.”
Stay tuned:)
