As a child one of my favorite things about Christmas was receiving a gingerbread house from a family friend. I started sending gingerbread houses to the children of my friends as they came along. How I loved decorating gingerbread houses with my children when they were younger and shopping for all the different candies and other edible decorations. Last year we received a gingerbread house as a gift at Christmas and after reading an article about a couple who kept a gingerbread house for 40 years by freezing it, I decided to try it.
