The Brushes App was born in 2009 one year before the iPad. Jorge Colombo made this New Yorker cover waiting in line at a museum on his phone. I remember reading the story ( link below) and marveling at the creativity and technology.

I dutifully downed loaded the app with the hope that I, too, could be creative while waiting. Then I forgot all about it.

This week, I joined a virtual guided tour of the Hockney-Van Gogh: The Joy of Nature exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and discovered that David Hockney, who is 83, uses Brushes too- and just like that I went down the Hockney and Brushes rabbit hole.
