I am not an aerosol fan. A leftover from my mother’s use of hair spray which always made me feel like I had to hold my breath which means I am not an air freshener spray fan either. As a result, I have been making my own air sprays with water in spray bottles for years. For travel I use the pocket mister bottles.
Lately, I have switched to the Continuous Spray bottles – a real game changer

Mostly I use Vinegar, Essential or Diffuser Oils and Laundry Softener/Scent Boosters mixed with tap water
Vinegar masks cooking smells – especially fish and onion. Yes, it smells like vinegar for a moment, but the smell dissipates quickly taking the cooking odors with it.

Laundry Softener and Scents Boosters come in lots of varieties and brands and mix well with water. Glamorous Wash sells 4 oz bottles of their scents that have fun names like Diva, High Maintenance and French Market. I am a Diva fan.

For Essential Oils – there are lots of choices – and you can make your own blends – If you like Thymes Frasier Fir candles you are in luck – their diffuser oil is the best.

In Spring I use Jasmine, For Summer -Lavender and Lemon , In Fall – Cinnamon and Clove – You get the gist. Endless choices.
You can mix right in the spray bottle – I use 8 oz continuous spray bottles. Fill with tap or distilled water about ¾ full – Add a few drops of oils or half an ounce of softener/scent booster. Shake before each use. Use as little or as much as you like – Some people like to add a tablespoon of alcohol or vodka to make the spray dry faster – but I don’t bother.
Easy and fun. Two of my favorite things:)
