Bluebirds always bring a bit of magic to anyone’s day.
One thing that didn’t make it onto our moving truck from our old house were the bluebird boxes from our lavender field. I decided to leave them behind for the bluebirds, but I missed them.
This week my local bird store called to say that the bluebird boxes were in and they are beauties made from recycled plastic from Songbird Essentials. Duncraft also makes them. We picked up two more which are now mounted on green fence posts on either side of the pond.
We also picked up a starling proof mealworm feeder
We spotted bluebirds out back from time to time near the bird bath last season, but this year we are ready for them and hope to offer them a new sanctuary for years to come.
