Bloomaker

It’s February in New England and I have Tulips blooming in my kitchen thanks to Bloomaker.

I first discovered these at my local Wegemans and this years crop are from Costco.

Bloomaker also offers Daffodils, Hyacinth and Muscarati.

I have always loved tulips. Watching them come up on Park Avenue was always the first sign of spring for this city kid. Alas, We have lots of deer, who also love tulips, so planting tulips outside would mean setting up an all you can eat buffet for them. This way I can enjoy my tulips and the deer too:) As a bonus, there is no bending or digging involved….

No water or soil needed

You can also mail order their waxed Amaryllis bulbs in a variety of bloom and wax colors. We got Pink ones for Valentine’s Day. Just set on on a shelf and wait for the magic to happen. No water, no soil, just beautiful blooms. They make great gifts too.

My red Christmas Amaryllis are just starting to fade….so I am happy to have a new “crop” to look forward to.
