
Combine Gelatin & Bird Seed
Birdseed cakes
• 1 packet unflavored gelatin
• 2 tablespoons cold water
• 1/3 cup boiling water
• 2 cups of birdseed
• Muffin pan
• Suet cage or straws& string
Empty 1 package of unflavored gelatin into mixing bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of water. Let sit while you boil ⅓ cup of water. Add boiling water and mix until gelatin has dissolved. Add 2 cups of bird seed – a little at a time – until seed is thoroughly coated- it will look wet

Grease a muffin pan with spray and push mixture into openings. Not too thick. I use silicone molds- and skip the greasing.
If you want to hang- push a straw into the center of each mold to leave a circle when dry. Skip this step if you are using a suet cage. Leave filled pan on counter overnight to set.
In morning, take seed cakes out of pans/molds and remove straws. Hang with simple cooking twine or place in suet cages to hang.
