This enormous sugar maple grows up by the street where the house originally stood. It provides natural air conditioning for the barn and puts on quite a show in the fall
This year we are boiling the sap using a Turkey Fryer that we bought for this purpose and trying our hand at maple sugar candy as well – filter,filter,filter gives us the best results.
The sap has been running well this year. The drip plonking into the bucket is a favorite sound of spring.
